Give a client its own report template
On the client’s Brand tab, upload a PowerPoint deck under Report templates, confirm what each slide is and where the figures go, then mark it ready once Orbit’s check passes.

- You need
- AI Reports switched on for your agency.
- A PowerPoint (.pptx) file up to 40 MB, unless you use Orbit’s layout.

Steps
Tick a step’s number when it’s done. We’ll remember where you were.
Open the client’s Brand tab and scroll to .
Drop a .pptx on Upload a template. If neither your agency nor this client has a deck of its own yet, you can press Use Orbit’s layout instead and skip the rest.
On the template’s card, press Finish setup. Under What is each slide?, check what Orbit proposed, then press Continue to fields.
Under Where do the figures go?, check each slide’s fields and press Looks right, next slide. On the last slide, press Run the check.
When Orbit says Orbit built a sample deck, press Mark ready to use.
When it worked
Orbit confirms “Ready to use. Monthly decks are now built from this template.” With Orbit’s layout, it confirms the layout is being prepared and puts it in use when its check passes.
If something goes wrong
Orbit showsReport templates are PowerPoint files (.pptx). Save a Google Slides deck as .pptx first.
Download or save the deck as .pptx and upload that.
Orbit showsThe sample deck did not pass. Open it to see why.
Press See what failed, fix the slides or fields it names, then press Run the check again.
You don’t see Report templates on the Brand tab.
Report templates are only for agencies where Orbit has switched on AI Reports.
How it works
Explainer: Client report templates
A report template is the PowerPoint deck a client’s monthly reports are built from. A client uses your agency’s template unless you give it one of its own.
Report templates are on the client’s Brand tab, below the brand kit, for agencies where Orbit has switched on AI Reports. A client without its own template says “This client uses the agency’s template.”
Upload your own .pptx, up to 40 MB. Until your agency has a deck of its own, Orbit also offers its standard layout in the brand kit’s colours and logo. Every template needs a title slide, a slide with figures and a thank-you slide.
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| Finish setup | Orbit has read the slides; you still need to confirm what each one is and where the figures go. |
| See what failed | The sample deck Orbit built from it didn’t pass its checks. |
| Review and use | The check passed. Mark it ready to use. |
| Edit mapping | It’s in use. Change what Orbit fills on each slide. |
Explainer: The client brand kit
A client’s brand kit holds its logos, colours, fonts and formatting conventions. Orbit uses it when it builds decks and reports for that client, and any section you don’t override follows your agency’s own kit.
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Logos | Five slots: Primary, Reverse (on dark), Mark, Wordmark and Favicon. PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, up to 2 MB each. |
| Colours | Primary, secondary, accent, ink and surface, plus Chart series colours. |
| Typography | Heading, body and mono fonts. |
| Conventions | Date format, Currency, Week starts and Decimals. Defaults: MMM D, YYYY; USD; Monday; 1. |
| Guidelines | Free text, such as tone, banned words and how to name things. |
| Deck & report templates | The client’s own .pptx, .docx or .xlsx templates, up to 40 MB each. |
- When your agency has its own kit in Settings › Branding, each section has a Client override box. Unticked, the section is greyed out and follows the agency’s kit.
- Logos save as soon as they upload. Everything else saves with Save brand kit.
- Name a template before you upload it: that name is what people pick from later.
- A template reads “Ready to use” once someone has confirmed its slots, the places Orbit fills.
- Owners and Admins can edit the kit. Everyone else sees it read-only.
