Command Center
Check each campaign’s readiness and push builds to The Trade Desk.
At a glance
- Where in Orbit
- Sidebar › Workspace › Command Center
- Who can use it
- Everyone at your agency can open campaigns, start a build and edit it. Only an Agency Admin can choose the TTD advertiser and push to The Trade Desk.
What it’s for
Command Center holds one campaign for each approved media plan. A campaign is created when its plan is approved, and there’s no other way to create one.
Each campaign has three sections. Overview shows its readiness, its workstreams and any issues. Planning shows the approved plan’s lines and starts the build. Build is where you check and edit the campaigns, ad groups and creatives the build made, then push them to The Trade Desk.
The Trade Desk is the only platform you can push to. Orbit’s Build screen states that everything it creates there is created paused. Audiences, Tagging, Creative and QA are marked Soon in a campaign’s sidebar and aren’t available yet.

Questions
How do I create a campaign in Command Center?
Approve its media plan. Command Center has no button to create a campaign; each one comes from an approved plan.
Can I delete or archive a campaign?
No. Command Center has no way to delete or archive a campaign, and archiving or deleting its plan leaves it in place.
Who can push to The Trade Desk?
Only an Agency Admin. Anyone else who tries sees “Only agency admins can push to a platform”.
Push a campaign to The Trade DeskWhat has to be true before you push
Who can choose the TTD advertiser?
Only an Agency Admin. The choice is kept for the client, so their future campaigns push to the same advertiser.

Can Managers and Specialists work on a campaign’s build?
Yes. Anyone at your agency can open campaigns, start or re-run a build and edit its rows. Only choosing the TTD advertiser and pushing need an Agency Admin.
Does Client Access limit which campaigns someone sees in Command Center?
No. Command Center lists every campaign at your agency to everyone at your agency.
What do I need before I can push?
A client on the plan when it was approved, the client’s TTD advertiser chosen, your agency’s The Trade Desk connection and key set up in Integrations, and nothing marked must fix in Needs attention.
Clear what’s blocking a pushWhat has to be true before you push
Can I push to Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn or TikTok?
No. The Trade Desk is the only platform you can push to. Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, Reddit, X (Twitter) and TikTok show “Push coming soon” in the platform menu.
Will pushing a campaign start spending?
Orbit’s Build screen says everything it creates in The Trade Desk is created paused, so it can’t spend until someone enables it there. The confirm card says the same: “created paused, won’t serve”.
Why does a campaign say won’t push?
The Trade Desk doesn’t accept its channel, so the push would skip it. Choose CTV, Display, OLV, Video, Audio, Podcast, Native Display, Native Video or DOOH.
Edit campaigns, ad groups and creatives in BuildCampaigns, ad groups and budgets in Build
What does the required badge on a campaign mean?
The campaign has no budget. The Trade Desk needs a budget on each campaign’s flight, and ad-group budgets don’t replace it.
What does Campaign budget mean on an ad group?
The ad group draws from its campaign’s budget, shared with the other ad groups set the same way. Click it to pin a fixed amount; use campaign switches back.
What does % ready mean on a campaign card?
It averages how far the Planning and Build workstreams have got. It reads 100% once the latest push to The Trade Desk has finished.
What do the coloured dots on campaign cards mean?
Red is Blocked, amber is Attention, blue is In Progress, green is On Track and grey is Not Started. Cards are sorted in that order.
Where do campaign issues come from, and how do I fix them?
The workstreams raise them as they run. Overview lists issues from pushing to The Trade Desk, and Planning lists planning issues. Press Fix → on one to go where it can be fixed.
Check a campaign’s progress and issuesHealth, workstreams and % ready
What does BLOCKS PUSH mean on an issue?
The issue has to be fixed before the campaign can be pushed. Issues without that mark are advisory.
Can I re-run a campaign’s build?
Yes. Open the campaign’s Planning page and press Re-run build in the Build ready card. Anyone at your agency can.
Build says the build agent is running. How long does it take?
The page suggests refreshing in about two minutes. The campaigns, ad groups and creatives show once the build finishes.
I changed the media plan. Does Build update?
No. The campaign uses the plan’s lines as they were at approval, and re-running the build uses those too. Make the change in Build.
Can I delete something that’s already in The Trade Desk?
No. Orbit refuses with “This is live in the platform” and changes nothing. Change or remove it in The Trade Desk directly.
The push is taking a while. Should I push again?
No. After 80 seconds Orbit stops watching, but the push carries on. Reload the page in a minute and check the result before trying again.
Are UTMs sent to The Trade Desk when I push?
No. The confirm card says “UTMs are stored for export but not sent — The Trade Desk campaigns and ad groups have no URL field. They travel with creative push.”
Why does the UTM cell say not configured?
The client has no UTM mapping. Set one up in Settings › Taxonomy, then press Re-run build on the campaign’s Planning page.
The advertiser menu says No advertisers found. Why?
Orbit couldn’t list your agency’s Trade Desk advertisers. Check your agency’s The Trade Desk connection in Integrations.
What are Audiences, Tagging, Creative and QA in a campaign?
They’re marked Soon in the campaign’s sidebar and aren’t available yet. Overview, Planning and Build are the sections in use.
Who’s told when a campaign is created?
Everyone at your agency gets a “Campaign workspace created” notification when a plan is approved.
How it works
Explainer: How campaigns work in Command Center
Each campaign comes from one approved media plan. Approving the plan creates the campaign, copies the plan’s lines into it, and starts its planning and build.
Open a campaign from Command Center and the sidebar changes to that campaign’s sections. All campaigns takes you back to the list.
| Section | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Overview | The Launch Ready ring, the Workstreams and their progress, and Issues. |
| Planning | The approved plan’s lines grouped by channel, any planning issues, and the card that starts or re-runs the build. |
| Build | The campaigns, ad groups and creatives the build made for The Trade Desk. Edit them here, then push. |
- A campaign keeps the plan’s lines and client as they were at approval. Editing the plan afterwards doesn’t change the campaign or its build.
- Campaigns can’t be created, deleted or archived in Command Center. Archiving or deleting the plan doesn’t remove its campaign either.
- Audiences, Tagging, Creative and QA are marked Soon in the campaign’s sidebar and aren’t available yet.
Explainer: Health, workstreams and % ready
Each campaign card shows a coloured health label and how ready the campaign is. Both come from the two workstreams in use today: Planning and Build.
Cards are sorted by health: red first, then amber, blue, green and grey. The “% ready” figure on a card averages how far the Planning and Build workstreams have got, and reads 100% once the latest push has finished.
On a campaign’s Overview, each workstream shows one of these statuses:
| Colour | Label | When |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Blocked | The latest push to The Trade Desk failed its checks. |
| Amber | Attention | The Planning or Build workstream needs a fix. |
| Blue | In Progress | A workstream is running or ready to review, or a push is under way. |
| Green | On Track | The latest push to The Trade Desk finished. |
| Grey | Not Started | No workstream has started. |
- Queued: not started yet.
- Running: working now, for example “Normalizing media plan…” or “Building platform shell…”.
- Ready to review: finished and waiting for you to check it.
- Needs fix: something needs your attention. Check Issues.
- Done: complete.
- Workstreams marked Coming soon don’t count towards readiness.
Explainer: Campaigns, ad groups and budgets in Build
Build has three tabs, Campaigns, Ad Groups and Creatives. Each row is one object to create in The Trade Desk, and each change saves as you make it.
| Column | What it takes |
|---|---|
| Objective | Awareness, Performance, Retargeting, Consideration, Conversion or Reach. |
| Channel | CTV, Display, OLV, Video, Audio, Podcast, Native Display, Native Video or DOOH. |
| Pacing | Even, Frontloaded, Dayparted or ASAP. |
| Goal | Read-only. Orbit sets it from the Objective. |
| Campaign Budget | The budget for the campaign’s flight. The Trade Desk needs one. |
| Push As | How the row is created in The Trade Desk. |
- An ad group showing Campaign budget draws from its campaign’s budget, shared with the other ad groups set the same way. Click it to pin a fixed amount; use campaign switches back.
- A required badge means the campaign has no budget yet.
- A won’t push badge means The Trade Desk doesn’t accept that channel, so the push would skip the campaign.
- Creates paused describes the push: “Everything Orbit creates in The Trade Desk is created paused, so it cannot spend until a human enables it there.”
- If a change fails to save, its cell shows ⚠ retry and a banner counts the failed changes, with Retry all.
- The UTM cell reads “not configured” when the client has no UTM mapping, and “rebuild to generate” when the row was built before its UTMs were.
Limits: What has to be true before you push
Only an Agency Admin can push, and only to The Trade Desk. The campaign needs a client, a chosen TTD advertiser and your agency’s Trade Desk connection, and nothing in Needs attention marked must fix.
These must-fix items also block the push. Until they’re cleared, the push button reads, for example, Fix 2 first:
| Check | What it needs |
|---|---|
| Client assigned | The media plan had a client when it was approved. |
| TTD advertiser routed | An Agency Admin chose the client’s TTD advertiser in Build. |
| TTD credentials configured | Your agency’s The Trade Desk connection is set up in Integrations. |
| TTD-MCP key issued | Your agency’s TTD key is issued in Integrations › The Trade Desk. |
- “Set a campaign budget. The Trade Desk requires a budget on the campaign flight — ad-group budgets do not substitute for it.”
- “The campaign budget is $0. The Trade Desk rejects a flight with no budget.”
- Pinned ad-group budgets that add up to more than the campaign budget.
- An ad group pinned to a budget of $0.
- A channel The Trade Desk doesn’t accept.
- “No audience selected” and “Creative not ready” are optional and don’t block a push.
Prevention: Avoid push blockers
Most push blockers start on the media plan or the Trade Desk connection. Sorting them out before you approve saves a trip back.
- Set the plan’s Client before you press Approve Plan. The campaign takes its client from the plan at approval.
- Make your plan changes before approving. Edits afterwards don’t reach the campaign.
- Check your agency’s The Trade Desk connection and key in Integrations before anyone needs to push.
- Give every campaign in Build a Campaign Budget above $0.
- Keep pinned ad-group budgets within the campaign budget, or leave ad groups on Campaign budget.
- Use a channel The Trade Desk accepts: CTV, Display, OLV, Video, Audio, Podcast, Native Display, Native Video or DOOH.
Explainer: What approving a plan does
Approve Plan sets the plan to Approved and creates its campaign in Command Center, with a copy of the plan’s lines as they are at that moment.
- The plan’s status becomes Approved, and Orbit records who approved it and when.
- Its campaign is created in Command Center with a copy of the plan’s lines, and the campaign’s planning and build start straight away.
- Everyone at your agency gets a “Campaign workspace created” notification.
- You’re taken to the new campaign in Command Center.
- There’s no confirmation step, so check the plan before you press it.
- The campaign keeps the lines and client the plan had at approval. Edits to the plan afterwards don’t reach it.
- Set the plan’s Client before you approve. Pushing the campaign to The Trade Desk needs one.
- Approve Plan isn’t shown on archived plans, or once a plan is Approved, Live, Paused or Completed.
