Work through your Focus list
Focus ranks the calls that need you today. Use each call’s offers, then mark it Done or Not now to take it off the board.

Steps
Tick a step’s number when it’s done. We’ll remember where you were.
Open Mission Control. lists the calls your morning brief ranked for today, most important first.
Read the headline and bullet points. For an email, press Open to read the thread in Gmail.
Use an offer: Draft a response writes a reply you can copy, Build the QBR deck starts a build, and Schedule a review finds a time and sends it to .
When you’ve dealt with it, press Done. If it doesn’t matter, press Not now.
Open Up next to see what the brief left for later this week.
When it worked
Items you mark Done or Not now leave the board. A draft opens in a [[Draft]] panel marked “Nothing is sent. Yours to edit.”
If something goes wrong
Orbit showsNo calls today.
Your brief found nothing that needs you right now. Check Up next for what’s coming later.
Focus shows insights, not your brief.
You don’t have a morning brief yet. Connect Gmail or Google Calendar in your Profile; a brief is scheduled once you have a seat and a connection.
An email you marked Not now came back.
A newer message arrived on the thread, so it needs you again. Mark it again once you’ve dealt with it.
You marked something Done by mistake.
There’s no undo. An email thread comes back on its own when a new message arrives.
How it works
Explainer: Focus, Up next, Done and Not now
Focus lists the calls your morning brief ranked for now, each with offers such as Draft a response. Done and Not now take an item off the board.
Each call shows a headline, context and a few bullet points. Email threads have Open, which opens the thread in Gmail.
Without a brief, Focus shows your top 3 active insights from the last 7 days instead.
Up next holds what the brief didn’t pick for now, grouped Also today, This week and Next week. Filter it with All, Email, Meetings, Pacing or Recommendations. Still open lists recent recommendations nobody has marked yet.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Draft a response | Writes a reply in a Draft panel. Nothing is sent: Copy it, or press Open in Gmail. |
| Build the QBR deck / Build the monthly report | Queues a build for that client. It lands in your Library. |
| Schedule the QBR review / Schedule a review | Finds a time and puts the invite in Approvals. Nothing is sent until you approve. |
| Review the deck | Downloads the deck already built for that client. |
| Done | Takes the item off the board because you dealt with it. |
| Not now | Hides the item because it isn’t relevant. |
- Done and Not now both hide the item. An email thread comes back either way when a newer message arrives on it.
- Other items, such as recommendations and pacing, stay hidden for as long as Orbit keeps finding the same thing.
- There’s no undo for Done or Not now.
Explainer: Your morning brief
On weekday mornings, Orbit reads your Gmail, Google Calendar and your clients’ data and ranks what needs you today. The ranking fills Focus and Up next.
A brief is scheduled for you once you have a seat and have connected Gmail or Google Calendar in your Profile. It runs on weekdays at 07:00 your time, or at the hour you choose in your Profile.
If a run fails, Orbit tries once more on its own. On weekdays between 07:00 and 19:00 your time, Orbit also checks your mail and Calendar regularly and runs the brief again when new mail arrives.
The line under your name says how current the brief is, and offers Retry or Re-rank when it would help.
| It says | What it means | Button |
|---|---|---|
| As of … · data … | The brief is current. | None |
| Running now… | The brief is being written. | None |
| 3 new messages need you since … | Mail that needs you arrived after the brief. | Re-rank |
| Brief from … data · new data landed … | Newer client data arrived after the brief. | Re-rank |
| Ran with gaps · … unavailable | A source, such as Gmail, couldn’t be read. | Retry |
| This morning's run failed … · showing the brief from … | Today’s run failed, so you’re seeing an earlier brief. | Retry, once the automatic retry is used |
| No run since … / No run yet / No brief yet | The brief was due but hasn’t run. | Retry |
| Data as of … · ETL is behind | Your synced client data is more than 36 hours old. | None |
- Orbit notifies you with “Your morning brief is ready”, or “Your morning brief ran with gaps” when a source couldn’t be read.
- With voice turned on in your Profile, Read aloud plays the brief.
Explainer: Approvals: what waits for your tap
Anything that would reach a client or someone’s calendar waits in Approvals until you press Approve. Each card says exactly what approving does.
| Request | What Approve does | Who can approve |
|---|---|---|
| Share a report or deck with a client | Files it into the client’s Documents, where anyone with portal access can download it. | Owner, Admin or Manager |
| Schedule a meeting | Creates the event on your calendar and emails an invitation to every attendee. It can’t be un-sent. | The person it was requested for |
| Move a meeting | Moves the event and emails everyone the new time. It can’t be un-sent. | The person it was requested for |
- You see only requests made for you that nobody has decided yet.
- A card can carry a risk label: Moves money or Goes outside Orbit.
- Report requests show page previews and a link to open the file. Meeting requests tag each attendee “free” or “not checked”.
- Reject turns the request down and removes the card.
- A Specialist can’t approve sending a report. Pressing Approve shows “Sending a report to a client needs an admin or manager. Ask one to approve it.”
- Voice can’t approve anything. Every approval needs a tap.
