Steps

Tick a step’s number when it’s done. We’ll remember where you were.

  1. Open Pacing. To change Start or End, switch to Whole flight first; in This month they’re read-only.

  2. Under What you enter, click the cell: Budget type, Start, End or Total budget.

  3. Type or choose the new value. Press Enter to save, Tab to save and move to the next field, or Escape to cancel.

When it worked

The cell shows the new value and pace recalculates. Orbit shows no message when it saves.

How it works

Explainer: How pacing is calculated

Pace compares what’s been spent with what should have been spent by now. Daily pacing is Spend CTD ÷ Target so far, both counted through yesterday.

Pacing columns
ColumnHow it’s worked out
Spend CTDMatched spend from the start of the window through yesterday
Target so farEach day’s planned amount, added up through yesterday
Daily pacingSpend CTD ÷ Target so far, as a %
Budget leftBudget − Spend CTD
Days leftDays from today to the end of the window, including today
Adjusted dailyBudget left ÷ Days left: what to spend each remaining day to land on budget
Today's targetToday’s planned amount
Spend pacingSpend ÷ budget
CPMSpend ÷ impressions × 1,000
  • A day’s planned amount is the month’s budget spread evenly over its days, unless you set a daily target or a day plan.
  • With a daily target, pace follows the daily target, and Budget left still follows the budget.
  • On Daily and Daily (campaign cap) lines, Today's target adds “put this in the platform today”.
  • Platform, region and Grand total rows, the Breakdown and the cards at the top add up budget, spend and target first, then work out pace from those totals.
  • Totals show pace as how far off it is, such as “-23%” or “+15%”.
