4 stepsUpdated 13 Oct 2026

Steps

Tick a step’s number when it’s done. We’ll remember where you were.

  1. Open Dashboard. The header badge, such as “Data updated 3h ago”, says when your data was last refreshed.

  2. Check the Sync health tile for any issues to review.

  3. In the Data sync card, each connection shows its status, such as , and when it last synced. Press on one that failed.

  4. For more detail, open Integrations and press Manage → on the connection to see its Recent ETL Sync Jobs.

When it worked

Every connection shows Synced, and the Sync health tile says “All integrations healthy”.

If something goes wrong

  • A connection says Failed.

Press Retry. If it fails again, an Owner or Admin needs to reauthenticate it.

  • A connection says Stale.

Its last finished sync is more than a day old. Open it from Integrations and check Recent ETL Sync Jobs. If its syncs are failing, reauthenticate it.

  • A connection says Never synced.

It has no accounts chosen yet. Open Integrations, press Finish setup → on it and choose its accounts. Connections that don’t sync to reports, such as Slack, always show Never synced.

  • There’s no “Data updated” badge.

It only shows once at least one connection is Synced.

  • Every connection is Synced, but a client’s data is missing.

Open Integrations, choose Account Mapping and look for Unmapped accounts. Their data syncs but appears in no dashboard or report until they have a client.

  • There’s no Retry on a Stale or Never synced connection.

Retry only shows on Failed connections. Select a Stale connection’s name to open it and check its recent syncs; for Never synced, choose its accounts.

  • The Dashboard still shows old figures after a sync.

The Dashboard doesn’t refresh on its own. Reload the page. Only the Data sync card updates itself while a sync is running.

How it works

Explainer: What each sync status means

Each connection has a sync status: on the Dashboard’s Data sync card, and in short in the Last Sync column in Integrations. Synced means it finished a sync in the last 24 hours. Failed and Stale are the ones to act on.

Sync statuses on the Dashboard
StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
SyncedFinished a sync in the last 24 hours.Nothing.
SyncingA sync is running now.Wait for it to finish.
StaleIts last finished sync is more than 24 hours old.Open the connection and check its recent syncs.
FailedIts latest sync failed.Press Retry. If it fails again, reauthenticate.
Never syncedIt hasn’t synced yet, usually because no accounts are chosen.Choose its accounts.
  • The Last Sync column shows a time such as “3h ago”, Syncing…, Failed or Never. Hover Failed to read the error.
  • Errors are shown as the platform reported them, in the platform’s own words.
  • Sync health is the share of your connections that are Synced. Failed and Stale count as issues to review. Never synced lowers the percentage without counting as an issue.
  • The “Data updated” badge shows the oldest last sync among your Synced connections, so it’s only as fresh as your least fresh data.

Limits: How often Orbit syncs, and its limits

Orbit syncs every connection once a day on its own. There’s no Sync now button: the only way to sync sooner is Retry on a connection that failed.

  • Each daily sync refreshes the last 7 days, so changes the platform makes to recent days come through.
  • On Sundays, the sync refreshes the last 90 days instead. History older than that isn’t refreshed on its own; email support@orbit.group if you need it.
  • A connection’s first sync starts as soon as its accounts are saved with a client.
  • In the + Add Connection catalog, six platforms send data to reports: Facebook Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, Shopify and Amazon Marketplace. They’re marked Syncs to reports.
  • Other catalog platforms, such as Microsoft Advertising, Snapchat Ads, X (Twitter) Ads and Google Ads Manager, can be connected but send no data to reports yet.
  • Retry shows on the Dashboard’s Data sync card next to a connection that failed. Anyone at your agency can press it.

Explainer: When data is missing but nothing failed

A connection can be healthy and still send nothing to a client’s dashboard. Usually an account isn’t chosen, has no client, or comes from a platform that doesn’t sync to reports yet.

  • Needs accounts: the connection has no accounts chosen, so Orbit skips it. Press Finish setup → and choose them.
  • Needs clients: it syncs, but some accounts have no client, so their data reaches no dashboard, report or Data chat answer. Assign them in Account Mapping.
  • The platform doesn’t sync to reports yet. Only platforms marked Syncs to reports do.
  • The account was assigned recently, so only recent days have filled in. Earlier days follow as Orbit re-syncs them.
  • A teammate can’t see the client at all. Check their Client Access in Team.

Explainer: Dashboard alerts

The alerts strip, such as “2 alerts”, flags what needs attention. It shows up to 3, most urgent first, each with a link to where you fix it.

Alerts, most urgent first
AlertWhat it meansLink
2 sync issuesConnections are Failed or Stale. It shows a failed connection’s error, or “Integration needs attention”.Review → opens Integrations
1 connection not synced yetA connection is “Awaiting first sync”.Check → opens Integrations
3 plans pending approvalMedia plans have the status Pending Approval.Review → opens Media plans
No performance dataNo performance data has synced for your agency yet.Connect → opens Integrations
  • An alert clears the next time the Dashboard loads after its cause is fixed.
  • Fixing a connection needs an Owner or Admin; anyone can press Retry on a Failed one in the Data sync card.
