Before you start

Who can do this
Agency Owner or Admin
You need

Steps

Tick a step’s number when it’s done. We’ll remember where you were.

  1. In the sidebar, open Creative Library.

  2. Choose the client in the client menu. You can’t upload while it says All clients.

  3. To tie the files to a media plan, choose it in the plan menu, which lists the client’s active plans. Otherwise leave it on No plan.

  4. Drag the files onto the upload area, or press and choose them.

  5. Wait for “Uploaded 3 file(s) — processing…”. Each card updates when its file has been processed.

When it worked

Orbit shows “Uploaded 3 file(s) — processing…”, and each asset appears with its format, size and spec check once processed.

If something goes wrong

  • Orbit showsSelect a client before uploading.

Choose a client in the client menu instead of All clients, then upload again.

  • Orbit showsFile exceeds size limit

Videos can be up to 512 MB and images up to 25 MB. Compress or resize the file and upload it again.

  • Orbit showsForbidden: client not accessible

You don’t have access to that client. Ask an Agency Owner or Admin to upload, or to check your access in Team.

  • Some files didn’t upload.

Files upload one at a time, and an error stops the ones after it. Check which files reached the library, then upload the rest again.

  • There’s no plan menu.

It shows only when the chosen client has active media plans.

How it works

Limits: What you can upload, and the library’s limits

Upload MP4 or MOV video up to 512 MB, and JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBP images up to 25 MB. Each upload belongs to one client.

Files the Creative Library accepts
KindFormatsLargest file
VideoMP4, MOV512 MB
ImageJPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP25 MB
  • Pick a client before uploading. You can’t upload while the client menu says All clients, unless your agency has only one client.
  • You can tie an asset to one of the client’s media plans only while uploading. It can’t be changed afterwards.
  • You can drop or choose several files at once. They upload one after another, and an error stops the files after it.
  • Each view shows the newest 60 assets, with no further pages. Narrow it with the client menu, a category chip or search.
  • Assets can’t be deleted, renamed, retagged or downloaded in the library. Archive what you don’t need.

Explainer: Categories, tags and processing

After upload, Orbit processes each file and sorts it into a category from its size and format: CTV Launch, OLV, Display or Unsorted. Archived assets sit under Archived.

A chip shows only when it has assets, with its count beside it.

Category chips
ChipWhat’s in it
All assetsEverything that isn’t archived.
CTV LaunchVideos that pass the TTD CTV spec.
OLVVideos that pass an OLV spec but not CTV.
DisplayImages that pass a display spec.
UnsortedAssets that failed processing, still need review, fit no TTD spec, or don’t fit a channel their linked plan buys.
ArchivedArchived assets only.
  • Grey tags describe the file: “video” or “image”, “banner” for an image that fits a display size, and “vertical” for anything taller than it is wide.
  • Other tags show in purple.
  • While files are processing, the library checks every few seconds and updates the cards. In Table view, the Status column shows where each file is, such as analyzing, ready or failed.
  • Assets a client uploaded from their portal carry a “client” badge.

Explainer: The platform spec check

Orbit checks each asset’s exact pixel size against The Trade Desk’s placement specs. A fit shows as Eligible, or as Check when the size fits but something else, such as the video codec, doesn’t.

The Trade Desk specs Orbit checks
SpecKindSizes
TTD CTVVideo1920×1080, H.264
TTD OLVVideo1920×1080 or 1280×720
TTD OLV-SqVideo1080×1080
TTD OLV 9:16Video1080×1920
TTD DisplayImage300×250, 300×600, 160×600, 970×250, 320×50
TTD Disp-LBImage728×90
  • Sizes must match exactly. A 1920×1080 H.264 video fits both TTD CTV and TTD OLV, and goes in the CTV Launch category.
  • File size and video length aren’t part of the check.
  • If an asset fits none of the specs, its drawer says it “Doesn’t fit any TTD placement”.
  • Open an asset to see its check under Platform spec check, with the reasons for any Check.
